DO NOT have influence on Federal issues like immigration or women’s healthcare.
DO NOT make changes to the public school system.
DO have influence on decisions made locally, (I.e., zoning, transit/traffic projects, how tax dollars are used for public services). Issues that directly affect your day-to-day quality of life in Coweta County!
“Can you please tell me a little about her stance on pay raises for fire and medical first responders?”
I support our first responders and am deeply concerned by the excessive turnover which leaves all Coweta residents vulnerable. They put their lives on the line every day and deserve competitive pay.
“Where is Tess on transit in Coweta?”
I support Coweta Connect that provides low cost transit services to our residents.
I’m against mass transit, bus or rail, as a “solution” for Coweta County’s traffic woes.
I support enhanced traffic analysis technology for our County to identify patterns to improve roadways.
I support safe walkable and bike-able additions to existing road projects (I.e, sidewalks connecting neighborhoods to adjacent schools, bike lanes).
“What about affordable housing?”
I believe we need housing where people who work in our community (i.e., EMTs, teachers) and our grown children should they wish to stay, can afford to purchase. With the majority of new homes at $300K+, that is impossible for most.
"Can I vote for Tess and still vote for Republicans in other races?"
Yes. In a general election, you are able to vote for ANY candidate from ANY party. It does not matter if you are registered with a political party or who you voted for in the past. Are you a Republican for Tess? You are not alone: Coweta Republicans for Tess
“Is she going to advocate for Section 8 housing in District 4?”
No.
“Where is Tess on the widening of Fischer Road?”
I am opposed to the widening Fischer Road to 4 lanes from Hwy 34 to I-85.
I believe in preserving our existing neighborhoods and not moving commercial construction into them.
I support a redesign of the pending Prowell Athletic Complex to a passive park preserving the animal habitat and wetlands. Currently the park is slated for 22 fields jammed into this space in violation of the county ordinance placing it only 50 feet from the homes adjacent instead of 200 feet.
I am opposed to Trinity having a “satellite” campus off Fischer Road and believe the future build out should be attached to the existing campus off Hwy 34. The proposal adds a proprietary golf cart bridge over Fischer Rd, over 1500 parking spaces, multiple buildings and a 4,500 person stadium in the middle of a neighborhood.
“Is Tess a tree hugger?”
YESSS.
I support keeping Coweta County green and preserving its rural character.
I am opposed to the 2021 residential ordinance modification of 4 units per acre with no green space my opponent championed. I will fight to dial this back and hold developers to preserving green space and creating walkable communities.
“What about the Coweta Animal Shelter & Future Adoption Center?”
I support strong spay and neuter policies and public education to reduce the amount of animals being surrendered.
I support revising the shelter ordinance from “will euthanize” to “may euthanize” to provide some flexibility on animal euthanasia to give rescue org’s a chance to rehome.
I support placing the adoption center and the animal shelter on the same campus and local rescues having a more active role in the design and construction of the center.
"What does a greener future mean Tess?”
Keep District 4 as Rural Conservation. Across the County: Fight to preserve the rural character of Coweta.
I am oppose the destruction of wetlands.
I am opposed to clear cuts.
I support green solutions (i.e., wildflowers instead of mowing, bio- swales, etc.) to existing renovation projects across Coweta to reduce flooding, runoff, and prevent creek contamination in addition to public education / knowledge share on projects like dark sky where residents can be part of the solution.
